Emerson has a dynamic employment opportunity beginning late March 2024! We are looking for a passionate and creative thinker to join our team of extraordinary educarers! This is a full time 30 hours/week position co teaching in our two preschool programs.

Ralph Waldo Emerson School for Preschoolers is a Reggio-inspired, nature based, non-profit school in Concord, NH. We welcome applicants interested in a long term commitment to our program.

The right candidate will be an individual with a deep respect for the competence of young children and who views the relationship with the child and family as central to the construction of learning. A sense of wonder, an open mind and a desire to collaborate are important qualities for this position. An associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or a related field with 30 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, and/or early childhood special education is preferred. Experience working with preschool aged children in a group setting is required. Knowledge of NAEYC's developmentally appropriate practice and emergent curriculum, such as in Reggio Emilia inspired classrooms, is desired.   Organizational skills and basic computer knowledge are important for this role. 

This is a full time position beginning late March 2024, five day/wk M-F from 8:00-2:00 (8:00-3:00 on Tuesdays). 

Teaching schedule:

Co-teaching our T-Th class for 3 and 4 year olds on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-11:30.  This class is made up of up to 20 children and facilitated by three team teachers.

Co-teaching our MWF class for 4 and 5-year-old children each Monday Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-12:30.  This class is made up of 20 children and facilitated by a team of three teachers.

Planning, Professional Development and Documentation Schedule:

MWF 1:00-2:00 

Tuesdays 12:15-3:00

Thursdays 12:00-2:00

Our program runs September – May.

Summer Hours:  About 2 hours in July and 10-15 hours in late August.  

Salary commensurate with experience for 30 hour work week (nine-month school year plus some flexible summer hours) Limited benefits.
